Family Crafts Finland: Mushrooms and Forest Folklore
Parents and young ones are invited to this special creative workshop for families!
Join us to learn about the different mythical creatures of Finnish folklore and craft them together as a family.
This autumn we have three special art workshops lined up for children of Spouse Program members, organised in collaboration with Seed Art Studio.
You and your child are welcome to join the first Family Crafts Finland workshop on Friday, 2 October.
We will draw and paint a mushroom home deep in the autumnal forests of Finland, where fairies enchant and gnomes make mischief!
What is the workshop all about?
The goal of the workshops is to teach children new to Finland about the local culture and activities, as well as make them feel comfortable in a new environment. Furthermore, they will have the chance to interact with others and learn English in the process. Most importantly, the workshops give a safe space for the children to be creative, have fun and make new friends!
The themes of the first workshop focus on autumn foraging, mushroom picking, Every Person’s Rights and Finnish folklore. We recommend the workshop for children aged five and above.
At the workshop, you and your child(ren) can look forward to:
- Watercolour art. Join to figure out what we’re painting!
- Some snacks and drinks
- A creative and friendly atmosphere for children and parents alike

What is Seed Art Studio?
Seed Art Studio offers a cosy and supportive atmosphere where children can learn through hands-on creative experiences and explore art in an English-speaking environment. Its mission is to foster lifelong learning from an early age, while helping children develop their English naturally through immersion in art. Along the way, children build confidence, express their creativity, and experience the sense of accomplishment that comes from creating something of their own.
