Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement concerns the Spouse Program web page.  The address of the web page is https://spouseprogram.fi.

The City’s objective

In the accessibility of the digital services, Helsinki’s objective is to strive for at least the AA level, or better, of the WCAG guidelines, if it is reasonably possible.

Compliance status

This website meets the critical accessibility requirements as required by the law in accordance with the AA level of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines, with the following detected defects:

Non-accessible content

The content described below does not yet meet all the accessibility requirements as required by the law.

  • This site using the Import Eventbrite Events – plugin by Xylus Themes. Module has a calendar-integration that does not meet the criteria as of yet

Non-compliance with accessibility criteria

  • There is an event calendar whose technical implementation causes problems when assistive technology or a keyboard is used. (1.3.1 Info and Relationships, 4.1.1 Parsing)

 

  • It is only possible to navigate the web page with navigation elements. (2.4.5 Multiple ways)

 

  • Some contrast errors appear on the web page. For instance, the contrast between the present day and the other ones is not sufficient. 1.4.3 Contrast (minimum).

Correcting the non-compliance

We work constantly to improve the accessibility of the web page. If the user notices any defects that are not mentioned in the statement, the user may send an email to the address jochen.faugel@hel.fi. The detected defects are corrected as soon as possible.

Information that is not obtained because of the mentioned defects can be requested from the page administrator.

Evaluation of the accessibility

The accessibility evaluation has been carried out in accordance with the City of Helsinki’s working instruction and methods, the aim of which is to ensure the accessibility of the website in all working phases.

 

The accessibility has been checked as an audit performed by an external expert and as a self-evaluation.

 

The accessibility has been checked using programmatic accessibility checking and manual checking of the website and the contents. The programmatic checking has been carried out by means of Siteimprove’s automatic accessibility checking tool and browser extension.

 

The expert auditing completed by an external quarter was executed by Service Centre Helsinki, the telephone and well-being unit.

 

Updating the accessibility statement

The accessibility of the website is managed with continuous supervision as the technology or content changes, and through periodic checks. This statement is updated in connection with changes to the website and the accessibility checks.

The City advances the accessibility of the digital services by standardising the publishing work and by arranging accessibility trainings for its personnel.

 

The level of accessibility of the web pages is continuously monitored in combination with their maintenance. The City reacts immediately to perceived non-compliance. The necessary changes are carried out as quickly as possible.
